I have a Google spreadsheet with all of the information here (minus the icons) plus a little bit more. You can find the spreadsheet here

When does this start?

The tournament is going to start June 2nd! Each round will be streamed live on Twitch every Tuesday around 8PM EST until a champion is declared (or until it gets too late and the round will be paused until the next day). Screenshots will be taken throughout the round and compiled into a photo album that I will narrate and post on here the following Saturday. This start date will take this event all the way up until the week before the 2020 college football season!

Where the hell are the mods!?

After the last Battle Royale, a lot of people were asking me about releasing these team mods for everyone to play with. I just want to let you all know that I still plan on releasing them! I've had a very busy fall/winter and haven't had as much time as I thought to finalize all of the mods for release, but I am working through all of them slowly but surely to get them out to everybody. Who knew that 130 different mods would be so difficult? I'm not going to set any hard dates for release, but I am going to work as hard as I can to get all of the mods finalized and released leading up to the event. I'll probably release them one conference at a time as I get them finalized, and I'll be sure to make a post on here announcing when each one is released. I'm sorry it's taken so long, but they are coming out soon!

In closing

I had so much fun doing this last year with all of you and I can't wait to do it all again. I want this event to be something that everyone can enjoy and be a part of together, so all input and feedback is appreciated. I had said at the end of the event last year that I was going to do a post-game analysis for the event, but I never actually got around to making that post. So if you have anything that you can remember from the last event that you thought worked or didn't work, or if you just want to talk about your favorite moments, please feel free to let me know. I'll be back in a few weeks with updates, but until then...

Questions Answers
Hi Lisa and Emily, just saw Drawn and Quarterly's repost of your tweet saying you were on here. Will you please recommend some comics that I might not know about or artists? Have you ever been to Desert Island in Brooklyn?? I love comics books. I love Desert Island! I made a window display for them once: Link to
A mini-comic by Kris Mukai called Commuter. She does such lovely, charming, funny work. - Emily Carroll's "Through the Woods" will creep you the fuck out in the best way, it's the new Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. - Jillian and Mariko Tamaki's "This One Summer" is perfect from start to finish. I cried and read it twice. - Eleanor Davis's "How to be Happy." How to be happy is: read this book. - some online comics by Lizz Hickey, I love everything she does: Link to - Michael Deforge is ALWAYS great and there's a lot of work to choose from. The prose is as good as the drawings are surreal.
Lisa- how did you come up with Bojack's design? For BoJack's specific design, we knew he should be wearing a weird sweater (he's just slightly inspired by Ben Stiller's character in Greenberg) and he should look cranky. His color and markings are the same as a real-life horse I used to ride/lease when I was 14, Tony the Pony.
Lisa, do you have any tips for newbie comics artists? I'm joining a comics convention for the first time and I’m a bit anxious about selling my comics because I don’t think it’s good enough haha. Don't worry about whether you're good enough, everyone has to start somewhere. I'm still learning and improving. Just go, share a table with a friend if you can, wander around a tiny bit and pick up some other comics and introduce yourself to some people. Conventions are weird but also really great. You'll have a blast.
Hey guys, really love the podcast, I look forward to every episode! Who were some of your favorite guests on the show (in character or not)? I really loved our expert Dustin Dumps (John Milhiser) in ep 71. Just thinking about him is making me laugh.
Karen Kilgariff played us a song on her guitar in ep 68 that was MAGICAL.
Eliza Skinner and Ron Babcock have been guests on recent eps and both of them really impressed me with how much HISTORY they know. They're like walking encyclopedias. Guy Branum is another one of those. He just blew our minds when he came on the show to tell us why Ruth Bader Ginsberg is a hero.
Lisa, who was your favorite character to design on BoJack? Also, for both of you, what's Julie Klausner like? I hung out with Julie at a dog park once and she kept pointing to different dogs and describing what kind of human they looked like, and her description was so dead-on and perfect every time, I was in stitches. She's honest, generous, and so funny it's frightening. She "gets it."
My fave characters to design were Quentin Tarantulino, Charlotte, the frogs (Charley/Mr Witherspoon), Virgil Van Cleef, Bob Maggot and Vincent Adultman! ;)
Hi! Your podcast is great. What are some other podcasts you're fans of? What advice would you to give to aspiring podcasters to get their work to stand out? Hi! I listen to tons of podcasts. Right now I'm really into: How Was Your Week, Savage Lovecast, The Indoor Kids, My Brother My Brother and Me, and I just started listening to Lady to Lady and it's hilarious.
Make the podcast that YOU would want to listen to. What are you interested in? What makes you laugh? I'd start there and then it's just a matter of getting more comfy with yakkin' into a mic!
Omg lisa we gave the same advice, mind meld!!! this is just like when we made the same knee high boots joke! Omg I feel so close 2 U <3<3 <3.
Hey, ladies! Can you pick a favorite episode of your own show? Or is that too difficult? Been having a great time working my way through the the back log chronologically, but is there one I should just jump to? Tuca will be your friend BUT hide your eggs. Seriously, if you have eggs in your fridge and you invite her over, those puppies will be GONE before you can blink.
Also, Lisa, will Tuca be my friend? I have so many favorites that my head starts to spin when I try to pick! but recently, on ep 70, we had Kelli Karsten on to talk about how she lives on a circus train and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. She's incredible.
Hey guys, love your podcast. I'm having kind of a blah day SO: What do you guys do when you're bummed out? I'm having the blahest day too. Mondays amirititteee? DON'T DO WHAT I DID: I ate an entire cup full of chocolate almonds and now I feel like a sick labrador.
You should text a nice/funny person and ask them to tell you a joke!
Or you should scribble something really ugly and stupid on a post-it note and stick it to your computer screen!
That's much better advice than I was giving!!! But (~:::HIPPIE ALERT:::~) sometimes when I'm having a bad day I tell someone that I think is great that I think they are great and that tends to make me feel better a bit. Oo same!! Giving somebody a compliment or telling somebody you love them is such a mood boost.
I love you too!!! You are so funny and smart and you make me feel good. Awww <3.
Hello! love the podcast, comics, standup etc. you seem like super supportive friends and everyone needs one or more of those. how did you guys meet and collectively realize your destiny to make people laugh smile guffaw and reflect critically on their lives? My boyfriend Adam met Emily while doing stand-up comedy in NYC and he introduced us! I liked how funny, confident, non-judgmental and into gross body humor she was!
One day, very early in our friendship, Emily mentioned that she used to host a radio show in SF and missed doing it. So I said "you should start a new show!" and she said "wanna host one with me?" and the rest is HISTORIA!!
What are your favorite snacks? Don't go California healthy on me either... Junk food snacks! A few days ago I ate an entire Reese's pieces candy bar, and I was combining each square of candy with a spoonful of real peanut butter because the pb/choc ratio didn't seem correct and I like to hack my snacks.
Ever had the pickle chips? Another Canadian delight that I miss from my younger days. Yesss ohhh man they are so good.
Lisa, any tips you can share on your creative process beyond "just draw"? I recently wrote 10 "steps to success" in an interview that I think make pretty good bits of advice for anyone pursuing doodling: Link to
Emily, quesiton for you. Do you think that the fact that there's no specific category for Jewish girl porn means that we aren't truly a race? But lemme know if you want more specific tips on any of that! "Just draw" is the most important thing but of course there's a lot more involved.
Brand new to Baby Geniuses... Favorite episode or two to recommend? I like the Guy Branum ep, just because he was SO informative!! David Smithyman was another really fun one. More recently, our episode with Megan Amram was an instant favorite...
Did you guys see Brian Littrell is gonna do one of these in two days?!?!?! I just got really into a Sirius station where Lance Bass DJs and plays all early-2000s pop music. It's the best thing in the world.
I saw Lance Bass coming out of a hotel in NY one time and he looked GORGEOUS. He was always the prettiest boy band member, imo.
This one's really just for Lisa. I've noticed when searching for wallpaper or reference images for BoJack that there's already a lot of BoJack-related porn. Have you run across this, does it weird you out, and are you surprised? I especially love how much of it features Mr. Peanutbutter. That was a fun surprise.
Whenever there's funny BoJack fan art or porn we pass it around the office and the entire crew enjoys it.
I like both of you individually, and only found out you have a podcast together because of this AMA. I feel out of the loop. Emily, I was pretty bummed that I was going to miss you at JFL42, but then you opened for Tig, and I was no longer bummed. I hope you find that story as interesting as it is to me. I wish I had a question, but I am not very good at this. Um, what book should I read next? I'm on a cowboy kick, so I recently read Blood Meridian and Lonesome Dove. Two VERY different Westerns. I also read a really great comic book: Seconds by Bryan Lee O'Malley!! And a really incredible non-fiction book about North Korea: Nothing to Envy
I'm in San Diego but I've been planning a trip to LA to see comedy shows. Yours will be top on my list!! I'm slightly biased but it's the best comedy show in the whole world. Seriously tho, they book amazing comedians!!!
Me too. :( I have this same problem with my fave porn videos.
He was in my web series and he was so cool and so fun and such a good sport about the dumb stuff I wanted him to do. Link to Adam texted me today to say "I just hugged Haley Joel Osment" and he hasn't explained why yet!
He texted me that too and was very disappointed to find out I knew him. He was like "it's ruined" He's a sensitive boy.
